Crosscut to Death
Pool Doubles Event

  1. Using a crosscut saw, two competitors from each team will make nine (9) complete cuts through a log within 20". If the team uses more than the 20" provided, they will be disqualified, unless they are permitted to do so by the judge.

  2. If the wood is squared it must be 6" x 6" for women and 8" x 8" for men. If the wood is round, it may not exceed 10" in diameter and a factor will be calculated into the results.

  3. Should the competitors "cut out", the competitors must re-cut, provided the re-cut is made within the designated area of the log.

  4. Teams shall be scored by the total elapsed time for the 9 discs to be cut. A 30 second penalty will be given for each disc fewer than 9 complete discs if the time limit of 3 minutes is reached.

  5. Both competitors must wear gloves.

  6. Only the four remaining competitors for each school may hold onto the sawing stanchion during sawing.

  7. No wedging is permitted.

  8. If a cookie is broken, and not re-sawn, the team will receive a 30 second penalty for each broken cookie.
